OBJECTIVE
Research 5 mythological or folklore figures, looking into their origins and culture. Then, select 1 figure and develop a logo and wordmark referencing the figure and its culture. Twisted Nessie was created in reference to the Scottish myth, the Loch Ness Monster. In the logo, a illustration of Nessie is weaved into a Solomon's knot, a prevalent symbol in Scottish history, and colored to reference the aquatic environment she is found in.
SCOPE
3-week project, must take elements from chosen figure and have cultural references, must be applied to a fictional business with relevant mockups.
IMPACT
Twisted Nessie was created to be an easily recognizable, but clever and memorable, reference to the figure, as well as its history. Through this I learned more about incorporating references into a concept.
